Interview went OK cheers! At least, it wasn't too long so I can catch most of today's play!

11 off Vettori's last over - hope they take him off! And I'll be truly p****d off if Styris gets any more wickets.

If these two are together at lunch we have a chance.

Parable of the Old man and the Young

I reckon Nasser has got it just right here - really impressive team contribution. He's happily playing 2nd string to a young batsman who may in time depose him from the team, and making sure Vettori doesn't get his own way - taking risks, but calculated ones. They can't let Vettori settle and certainly can't let him and Fleming start to crowd the bat with fielders!

Go Nas!

I reckon we're back to the start in a way here - just less than 1/3 of the time gone, just less than 1/3 of the runs made. Imagining the same happens twice more, that would leave Mr. Piles at the wicket with one of the recognised batsmen with 6 overs and 20 runs left in the match!

good thinking, in that case you would back us to win, but if a few wickets tumble or another few overs like the hussain - vertorri then it swings, and iv got exams this afternoon! bugger

What a fascinating dilemma !

Do they go for the win and risk losing it - or play it safe and defend playing for the draw?

In my mind they're mutually exclusive - you can't try for one and get the other. If they go for the win - they must go for it, heart, body, mind and soul. They need to decide NOW if they're going for it or not, because they don't have long to decide. It's pointless getting to tea with 20 overs left and 100 runs still needed, because they could well end up throwing the match away by losing wickets trying to get those runs quickly.

In my mind they're playing for the draw.

Views, comments?

Large bottle of pepto bismol please

I think the break came at just the right time for the black caps. There's a few known tricks for Fleming to deploy & by reputation maybe a few new ones. Plenty of cricket left in this. It's reassuring to know Naz, Thorpe & Piles have some experience of this type of situation.

England will go for the win until both of Flinoff/Jones is out imo.

Even Henman is making a comeback!
Latest: Henman 4-6 4-6 7-6 Saulnier
