Run rate now 3.17 - this partnership scoring at 3.35!

This is really excelent cricket from these two. Trouble is, how could we justiy dropping either? Who is going to lose out in the longer term?

How many do England realistically need to be chasing down at Tea? 100? 120?

On comes Cairns to try out his *yawn* slower ball.

This type of luxury problem is a sure sign that England are a coming team.

Now who was it who floated the idea that Hussain might run Strauss out?

Well as Athers was just saying on C4, he feels (as I've often said) Strauss should perhaps open with Tresco, with Vaughan dropping down the order to 4. Should you perhaps play your best strokemaker (in Vaughan) at 4? I think so.

That still leaves the problem of who you drop. It can only really be Nas or Giles. In the short term, it might be Giles, in the longer term clearly its going to be Nas. The big question is - do you allow Nas to get his 100 Caps or do you make the change for the best of the team?

For the first time in the match we were starting to look really comfortable and on top. And we had to just chuck it away - it wasn't a brilliant bit of cricket by them, or an inspired piece of captaincy. They are right back in the game because Nasser was a bloody idiot!
