All credit to the unselfish act of Andrew Strauss, who sacrificed himself to allow Nas to continue, regardless of who's fault it was. It was a genuine 'mix up' and someone was going to go, and Strauss decided it would be him.

There's no way you can blame Hussain for that it was a genuine mix up between the pair of them.

Thank you Andrew Strauss .

Although I didn't see it ont'elly and the TMS boys reckon it was his call so his own fault.
The C4 boys said it was Strauss's call first of all, but after they showed the replay it was obvious that it was Nasser's fault.
Nasser had better see us through to the close now, or else...

The runout was Strauss fault, although Nasser could have sacrificed himself. But should he have done so? Remember when Nasser, who had already got a ton, sacrificed himself for Thorpe, who was in the eighties, in Antigua 1998? The result was England lost seven wickets and the game after tea.

If he scores the winning runs now, we will forgive Nass ('we' does not necessarily include Andrew Strauss).

I'll be interested to see waht Boycott has to say about the run-out - after all, he knows all about being run out...

Come off it sostenurter, you can't blame Hussain for that - it was the pair of them - if there was a problem Strauss should have sent Hussain back - he didnt! He didn't have to run, he could have just stayed his ground and said no.

However, this is Hussain's wake up call - he needs to go on and win this for England now!

Did anyone just hear what the stump mike picked up after Thorpe missed a leg glance? For those who didn't it was - 'oh f*** off'!

Yeah, I heard that!

I've seen the run-out again, and you're right, it's not entirely Nasser's fault! But But it was still pretty poor cricket by both of them - handed away a wicket.

Poor cricket witht he run out, but it doesn't tarnish for me a wonderful partership which "SHOULD" have won the game for ENG. The other 4 bats (Nas, Thorpe, Fred and GO "The Larch" Jones) just have to hold thier nerves.......

Anyway, I'd not advocate Nas being selected for him to get his 100 caps. 1) I'd want to get 100 'cos I desevred them, not because of some sympathy vote; 2) we have a young and improving team, the last thing we need is to stifle things now 3) for me, Nas has done nothing but justify his position on quality of performance in this test. If Mr. Piles does lose out in leeds (and don't hold your breath), that gives you a 1 test breathing space. I think it will be Nas that loses out, and will retire as a result - he's is not the sort to carry drinks I think. This is a shame, as the competition for places we need - and suddenly have - is then lost.......... Whatever happens, Strauss should open if only to mainatin the psychological advantage he's given us.

Don't know where I stand on this one. Nasser's contribution in the field has been outstanding in this match. If he proves yet again that he can produce the innings that England need in the circumstances (always his strong point), it will be hard to get rid of him. Nevertheless, I fully understand the reasons for doing so.

I'll add that I love and respect Nasser above any other cricketer, so I'm glad I'm not a selector.
