I just think they prefer being Big Fish in a small goldfish bowl full of tadpoles, weed and fish droppings.

Scott,

I thought I had seen Zainub around. A shame he doesn't post more in the England forum.

Which brings me to another subject. I wouldn't say everything is perfect here either. There isn't enough interaction between rival fans. I saw nothing wrong with some good-natured banter and even the occasional wind-up. It makes for a more lively board. Otherwise we are reduced to endlessly debating Jones v Read and Rachael's peculiar but endearing blind spots regarding players who score at more than 2 an over.

Scotty boy. I have long been registered here and in fact visit every day for a quick read. I know loads about cricket and generally make intelligent posts. I haven't posted here for ages but am constantly annoyed by people coming on to BBC just to make general insults at all users (to be fair you personally do not do this). This is equally as bad as the idiotic postings of Sundaram, Snooty, Rap Master etc.

Personally I'd like the time to come on here and contribute, but as most posts are quite long and take a while to read I do not have the time to do this as I unfortunately have work to do. One thing about the Beeb is people generally put up short posts, and there is still a lot of decent discussion on here. Anyway, enjoy the series, things are looking up!

I have to say both comments are spot on, some good-natured banter would be good - Mr Kiwi - plaese get your mates to come here.

Secondly, I find some of the posts on here, I never fully read them, it would be good if people could be more succinct or bullett point their arguments, rather than writing long narrative.

Finally, since leaving the Beeb, I have resited the tempation to return to gloat. I am happy here, so why go over to knock those who are happy there?

Welll Rachael constantly keeps us on our toes with her (I was going to say strange) unique insights into the game!

Fair enough, I'm happy to retract that comment! In my defence I may be mixing you up with someone else, and it's been a while since I've read the Beeb board with any interest.

It's a shame then, if you continue with the Beeb board, as I feel intelligent Cricket postings belong on this board.

Perhaps we should ask Mike the admin, to see if he can work out a more 'Beeb style quick' posting board, for those like you who don't have the time to read through all posts.

Yes talking of Rachael, I was aghast on another thread, to discover that Nick Knight was among her favourite batsmen.
Smacks of the "wrong sort of leaves" again. Actually that's quite a good pun...to me anyway.

I remember some fun we had on the BBC discussing Rachael's perfect team...
...but we probably shouldn't do that here.

Scott,
Whats wrong with the quick reply on these boards? I've just wrote this message in about 30 seconds which is as quick as the beeb.

I will tell you why the post are longer here, because it takes so dammed long to do anything on the BBC,you only have time to right a sentance, then a hour just to preview the post.
One name I noticed missing from your list of Idiots on the BBC Cricket Board, gets awy with murder he does.

We will all enjoy the series.

Interesting comments from all, succint posting would seem to be a good idea on threads where intense debate rages. As one who tends to ramble it's good to try and remember to come to the point - my eyes tend to glaze over some of the ½ page long threads.

I've got to say that we are really raising the bar on the quality of cricket talk on this board - in fact on another thread, Goaty and I have been discussing "Who had the biggest **** in world cricket" - you might like to know that Fred Trueman came out on top, closely followed by Botham and Ian Austin!

Keep up the good work team, and keep it real!!
