Who the hell wants to read about boring selection issues, wicket keeping debates and whats going to happen at Headingly? - that's all childish, puerile chit chat - arses is where it's at!

Red face Be in two places

There's an ongoing thread on the BBC site disucssing this site (an example below). I dont think the two sites are mutually exclusive & and in a way complement one another. I am also a member at Carribeancricket and Cricketweb - sites that are more interesting for me around the time England play the WI & Aus.

Not sure the underlined statement is true though.

Morris Dancer, DTM, both correct. I am registered on the other site and read bits of it every day, but don't have time to contribute properly. Today there is a thread by Jon T who was a good poster on here saying he'd like to see others over there etc. and I got a mention. In the same thread a couple of people are still slating this as a zoo and a place for morons only, which is not true at all. In my response on that site I pointed out that people coming on here just to slate the board are as childish as anyone else we could care to mention. Let's face it there must be thousands of cricket boards out there

Nope, that statement is not true - it wasn't "a couple of people", it was only me!

OI!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've always said I don't like stats, I've never said I didn't understand them nor know how to use them

Scott

PS

RWS Did you like the argument I was making - I thought it was kinda funky! (good!) Dang I'm gonna have to change my name - having the same name on both sites is a liability! Not that it would fool anyone - I have a distinctive style I think

Well I think it is true. People here think who ever posts on the beeb board is a moron. I don't disagree with the fact that there is a lot of garbage out there, but you can find some very insightful thoughts about cricket as well.

The beeb board is so much more easier to navigate through. How the heck to turn the email notification off by default?

Go to the User Control Panel and turn of the Default Thread Subscription bit. Set it to Do not subscribe. That'll stop your inbox from getting so clogged up, like mine dd intially!

Actually I am happy in both camps and not as you say looking to be a Big Fish as these are just cricket messageboards, not a popularity contest.

There is silliness on the BBC board and this one is far better moderated, but I would be careful not to get to elitist on this matter. Treat everyone with respect would be a good rule, plus there are a number of decent posters that want to talk cricket; to denounce them as you have above doesn't really add to the generally held belief that this site has more of a family feel to it.

How about we accept that the BBC board isn't moderated properly and that some people like to post where they fancy.
