I politely pointed out (well arrogantly actually, I'm always arrogant on the Beeb board - the fools make me do it) that he'd overlooked the fact that in the 3 previous Tests in the WIndies Trescothick and Vaughan had made between them an average of 27.66 and in the Tests in Sri Lanka an average of 64.66 - both significantly less than their combined historical average of 86.75. I just asked him to explain to me if that partnership was working as well as he claimed - how come neither of them were even getting close to making their averages over two Test Series?
Suffice to say - he didn't reply - they never do once you point out the errors of their ways.

Scott, you make a lot of good points and you use stats to do it, and on occasion I like to read your points and take them on board. But you really need to take a step back and look at how you are portraying yourself. This is just cricket talk, the poor guy probably wanted to chat, and yes, he got it wrong, but why do you feel the need to be arrogant and consider them all as fools. I would think that he didn't reply more because you accomplished your mission, you made him feel like a fool. Not really something to brag about is it.
Take it easy and have a little bit more respect for people. I don't often post here but I like the informed chat and the far better moderation, but your arrogance is misplaced, it's chat about cricket, that's all, and it should be pleasant.
