Now you have some weird views - but I think this is the Weirdest. So far all the candidates mentioned generally failed to impress, however Devon is not one of them. 40 Test 128 wickets and 5 x 5 wickets hauls, with a best of 9-57 can never be counted as one of the worst players to ever play for England???

Hi Rich
I agree fully with this post, under the present England set up he would have been as good as Harmison,he is the only playerI know who could rip the South Africans apart with 9 wickets in an innings, and then be dropped a little while later,he was a man always under pressure.

It is well known that Ray "The Supremo" Illingworth treid to ruin him, during the first tour to South Africa.

This is the same supremo who then tried to get Atherton to drop Fraser...

If I ever think we are having a bad session, I think back to those days and suddenly this new perspective makes my lif e that much easier to bear!!

Absolutely. According to Illingworth, Malcolm "didn't have a cricketing brain". Crazy.
