Bit unfair here

A P Igglesden made his debut over night captain was D Gower,it was against Ausralia,I saw the match,he was thrown in because most of the Englanf team had p......off to S Africa,he did not bowl bad,he was a rookie, they brought him back years later when he was over the hill,Gower got the sack for loosing with a team that changed from week to week.

Jason Gallion, never given a proper chance

D Lawrence, what was wrong with him,he was handled badly, and got a bad injury.

I can remember Lathwell making his debut,I think it was the same match as Caddick, his problem bag of nerves.

W Slack, well we never found out his real potential did we?could have been like another Alan lamb.

The rest where not terrible players like D Pringle, they where just so so players

munton was supposed to be the great white hope.

Quite a while Richie, there back and keedy cant even get a game.

Tell yu what Richie, dont count Anderson or Flintoff, they play for England, lancs are top of every thing, and they have done it without Freddy,I dont think the selectors know were Lancashire is.

Its across the Pennines, them hills that seperate them from were Vaughan used to play.

They know now

Another achievement of Steve Watkin was that in played the last test of the 93' series against Australia and helped England win the game. That was our first win for about ten tests against them. he was a great seam bowler and was ignored mainly because he played for Glamorgan. If he'd played for someone like Essex or Surrey he would have had more Tests.

Talking of which

Cr*p England players.

Derek Pringle

Bill Athey

Ashley Cowan

Simon Brown

Ronnie Irani

Ian Salisbury

I was in the middle of editing my introduction (post #31 in this thread) when my list was pounced upon! My revised post is more circumspect & I repeat it here for your perusal : After a quick glance back through the list of England test players (here) I found reams of names to choose from, not all genuine contenders but worthy of consideration nonetheless. Here's a start

Agreed. Big Syd went the same way as big Devon ..... a wasted talent

You & I have discussed our opinions regarding DP - here - post #37-#41!

Yes more or less, you took my mention of D Pringle out of context,I know we have had decussions before on this matter.but I was entitled to mention he was worse than the other contenders you had put forward at the time of my writing my post.i was making the point he was bad,but was saying the other players you mentioned were only so so.
I cant see a disagreement between us on this matter.

Ernest
