I would,nt deny Hodge his chance if it came. In fact, i would take him ahead of Katitch any day (I think he is a bit of a choker under pressure) but i still maintain that we need to restore the balance of youth and experience. If a bright prospect appears, blood him. Even if he initially come off, we will still have a good enough team to win anyway, and that is a luxury no other test nation has.

The point about state cricket is that it is arguably the best domestic compititon in the world and thanks to our batting depth, it is not all that far away from International cricket...e.g. WA second XI beating Pakistan. The transistion is therefore not all that hard and so there is not really a need to 'blood' the players much at all. Any 'blooding' is done in the One-day arena.

Yeah definetely that is why the likes of ML Love didn't get a debut until 28.

By the way, i'll put up a list of Australians who I think could make the English team who have played less than 6 tests.

J Cox
M Love
B Hodge
M Hussey
D Hussey
J Maher
W Seccombe
B Hogg
D Wright
A Noffke/ N Bracken
B Williams

I reckon they'd rank second to the current Australia side

Looks pretty good

Looks a quality team, though i would have thought Bevan should be in the mix somewhere, and a leggie would be good too. How is Cameron White coming on?
