As, indeed is the departure of Rudolph, c Giles b Hoggard 4.

Less of a joyful sight is the arrival of Jacques Kallis. Can we send him off for an early lunch?

Lets hope so OF. If we can it will turn a decent session into a very good one.

Smith's dissmisal was very funny as he ended up on his knees. He really is one ugly batsman to watch. A bit of a leg side larry.

Rudolph also out, but Giles injured. 10 mins to lunch one more wicket and it's very much England's session.

Smith has been taking the ugly pills since birth, I think. Not exactly an oil painting.

The slow-mo replay of Smith flat out on the pitch looking pleadingly up at the Umpire was very amusing indeed!!

Flintoff

How's he looking? Cricinfo has him bowling at up to 138km/h, which is just shy of 86mph if my arithmetic is correct. That doesn't sound too bad and can't be far off his full pace, can it?

Fairly satisfactory sort of morning, though Anderson is looking a bit expensive. Is he also looking dangerous? Haven't seen much on Cricinfo to suggest that he is worrying Gibbs or Kallis. Some early wickets after lunch would go a long way, but overall I'd say the boys should enjoy their lunch. Which is exactly what I am about to do as well. Back in slightly more than 40 minutes.

Not that young RW, No I Was ringing "Bells" all night, and chasing "Grouse", I got "chasered" to bed, by some "Teachers" on a "White horse,"!.
I see your prediction was right RW, vaughan did declare, the sun came out, he only changed his mind at the last minute, perhaps he should stick to losing the toss.

Yeah low to mid 80's on average. I've been very impressed with Jimmys pace though - been consistently around the mid 80's. Been quite unlucky also.

Can anyone think of anyone they dislike more in cricket then G Smith? Possibly Ganguly but I'd have to say Smith by some distance for me.
