Although I hate losing to the Aussies, on the whole they seem decent blokes. (Apart from Brett Lee, who when I met hism was a arrogant to**er).

Steve Waugh for example, you really wanted him to get out, but you knew that off the pitch he did a tremoundous amount of work for Charties in India.

But Smith is definatly up there, he has an over-flatted ego and cries like a little girl when things don't go his way. Ganguly is also up there as an arrogant little man.

From the current players, hard to think anyone who is more bothersome than Graeme Smith, though some of the Australians come very close. Though if we expand the question to include previous players, the re are four names who were far more annoying than Smith: Gatting, Boycott, Botham and Dominic Cork!

Well, it's all a matter of opinion, isn't it? Dan Jones, providing some live comment from in front of his TV in the UK on The Guardian website today: "The morning was rather unsatisfactory from England. ... None of the bowlers found real rhythm or a consistent line. ... England will want much more from their attack, now shorn of Giles, this afternoon."

So, questions: satisfactory or not? And is Giles still off after injuring himself with the catch to dismiss Rudolph this morning?

Giles is back on and available to bowl. Think he dislocated his right thumb?

Anderson is bowling well imo. Just beat Kallis with two cracking deliveries

Fifty to Gibbs. The bad boy of South African cricket reminds us why he gets picked despite his misdemeanours.

Just when I was wondering if SA were setting up camp for the day, out comes Hoggy again for his third wicket of the innings. Kallis b Hoggard 33, according to The Guardian site. Cricinfo seems to have frozen up.

Harmison off mid-over

Flintoff completing an over for Harmison who has had to leave the field. Any ideas what Harmison's problem is? No news on the websites.

Good to see Kallis dismissed, but I'd not get too excited yet, Tresco. I can't see a follow on opportunity coming up here.
