Can anyone think of anyone they dislike more in cricket then G Smith? Possibly Ganguly but I'd have to say Smith by some distance for me.
No. I cannot think of anyone that is disliked in cricketing circles more. Greame Smith wins that competetion hands down.

He looked halarious when getting out.

Thats it . I am sure there is proably more but thats about it.
That's enough. He's a bad boy then. Hope he is rehabilitated in good time, because he is a good cricketer.

I will praise the English bowlers. Especially Flintoff, Anderson and of course Hoggard.
Anderson because he hasn't played much and come on and bowled well at times.
At least the S.A. newcomers have been introduced into the toughness of test cricket.

Harmison

The Guardian website reports that he has left the ground to have a scan on a "knacked calf muscle". I believe The Guardian's correspondent is not a medical man. Anyway, somewhat worrying news with Flintoff having initially been worried about over-work and with Giles nursing a damaged hand.

What's the weather like, John? Cricinfo reports clouds building over the ground, which I guess is more or less bang on schedule for this time of year.

Well, it's hats off to Herschelle Gibbs for a century. Doesn't seem to have been troubled all day.

Light getting slightly worse on the screen OF, but then its hard to tell since the TV cameras compensate for any darkness to make sure the images are of a reasonably quality. Donald and Botham did mention the light a few overs ago but nothing of note.

Harmison is on the field, so I guess will take the new ball in 8 overs' time. He might have stayed off a longer had it been something more serious, but with the new ball just around the corner, England probably feel they need him to be in the field.

New ball is taken straight away by Vaughan and given to Anderson. I guess Hoggard will take it from the other end. GBH it seems has not been on the field long enough to be allowed to start bowling as yet.

The sun is out so looks like we will have play till 4pm GMT, the latest play is allowed to go on till.

Glad they're still playing, but I confess that I now have no idea at all how the hours of play regulations work. Please can we get rid of Gibbs before the close!
