I'm fine with what I call constructive sledging, some thing on the lines of "it is red, round and weighs this and this much" from bowler after batter played and miss and then batter replying with yeah, you know what it looks like, go and fetch it, after hitting a six the very next ball...that kind of stuff...that's alright, you know, just a bit of comoradry at best - but sometimes players tend to take this over the line a bit - I'm strictly not in favor of swearing or any personal remarks of any sorts. I have the worst memories of McGrath and Sarwan involved in an onfield finger pointing incident that led to huge controversy in 2003 in Antigua (as far I recall niether McGrath nor Sarwan were niether fined nor banned, please correct me if I'm wrong).

That was beacause McGrath mis-heard Sarwan, and thought he had said something about McGrath's wife - who was suffering from Cancer.

McGrath took obvious exception to what he thought he heard and the argument unfolded.

I know that, and I also know that both apologised to each other after the inccident - but I also remember that in same inccident David Shephard intervened (and rightly so) so settle down matters and McGrath (at least from whatever footage I have seen on TV) wasn't to prepaired at that particular moment to listen to him or any one else for that matter. It just all looked pretty bad to watch on a television screen in a cricket match. That's why is not a good memory in my mind.
