Excellent start, with Pollock lbw to Hoggard for a duck from the second ball of the day, and that's Hoggie's 5-fer.

Well done Hoggard a limited player who has really worked at his game. Made a career where it didn't look likely.

Hmm. Just catching up with the early part of the day here, and I see GO Jones dropped Boje five minutes into today's play. Put that one alongside the drop of HH Gibbs late last night. We could have been batting again by now! Not happy, Butterfingers! I also see that Harmison has not come to the party this morning. Any news on him?

Gentle ripple of applause for Gibbs as he brings up his 150. Thanks, Herschelle. Any time you want to go is fine, mate!

Getting very frustrating this. We have seen England unable to stop a tail wagging before. Boje and Ntini have added 52 so far. Not a good performance by England's bowlers, I'm afraid.

Good job Hoggard could come!

As well as his five wickets, Hoggard has also taken a catch and had a hand in Boje's dismissal run out. Where would England have been without him?

Good one, Giles - but what about the timing? England will have to face an over before lunch. Couldn't we have waited three minutes? Generally poor work by England's bowling, by the look of it, and Ern's comments before the series about England lacking depth in the attack all look fair enough based on this effort.

GO Jones drops some crucial catches that could have seen SA wrapped up for under 350.

But that's alright, because he can bat.

Did Hoggard get a 5 for? According to talksport, it was 4, but he got an LBW this morning on top of last night.

Graeme Smith is in hospital after taking a blow to the head so won't play at all today.
