| Harmison won't go anywhere, last year he took something like 66 wickets! Anderson was a good one day bowler, but he didn't do much of note in test matches. Why do you want him so badly in the team when other people are playing well? At the moment Anderson couldn't even swing his way through an orgy. |

His strike rate in test Cricket is just a bit better than Hoggy, strike rate, not average, thing is Hoggy now has played more Tests. Quote:
All I want to know is,do England have plans for him?,if not stop selecting him for the England squads, now you have it wrong here Pete, he did swing the ball, but he could not conrol it, I wonder if being out of practice had anything do do with it. And Pete, you need to have been in training, to swing your way through an orgy.

Anderson has always been too expensive if he doesn't get it right and hasn't ever shown that he's going to get it right all that often. Even in one day cricket he's hit and miss at times and when he's miss, he's bloody expensive, and that was during the best of his days in the team. |

| You are right, my memory has failed me, so I stand corrected. He made his ODI debut in Australia. His Test wickets have cost 35, but has a good strike rate of 58, not bad for a bowler thown into the England team from the acadamy. Harmison played because Simon jones and Flintoff got injured, Harmison would rather be a soccer player than a cricketer, and he don't like touring, and it shows. Harmison will shine next year at home no doubt, but he does not seem to be a player who likes to tour, and that shows as well.

It is also true that Harmy is a big football fan and would have played proffesionally, but it was probaly the same with Alec Stewart and would you question his commitment to English Cricket. At the present I would have Harmy over all but Hoggard as an England bowler. |

I don't question his commitement to the England cricket team, but I think it was Mike or RWS, posted a link to the GBH interview, and he made no bones about the fact he would rather be playing soccer. I have never been Hoggies favourite fan, but to be honest the way they have all bowled, I think (I can't be sure), for the 5th and final Test, I would go for Hoggy. I think there will be a big difference later this year, give Harmison and Flintoff a rest, and the Ashes are there to be won.

| Its hard to not think like that. England cricket captain gets fined a match fee which is probably less than the current england football captain spends on hair care products in a week !
