Well, now you know how the English feel about The Ashes! It's a bloody long time since we won them, and we're not falling for it like the Yanks did. We'll look after them at Lord's for you.

Yes, indeed - no way are we giving up the only crumb of comfort we have had to see us through the last 20-odd years!!!

One thing you can say about the English - they are not stupid. They are a bit selfish though - why did,nt you ever burn any bails for us to keep?

Blame guys like Botham and T. Grieg for that. Just when you start to feel a bit of sympathy for the English, you listen to those guys and it vanishes real quick

To, Seamer-redback-Kirsty-RBLC-and Beny if he spots this. And OF.

I think one of the reasons the Ashes stay in England, is that they are in a frail condition, so say the big wigs.

But there is the question of ownership, they were a tribute if you like, to the "death of English cricket",

http://www.334notout.com/ashes/records/recordslow.htm

Says it all. English cricket dies at the Oval on the 28th - August - 1882.

So as the wise one RBLC says

I would listen to your heart Mike, never be ruled by your head, or IMHO nothing will ever be achieved.

"Listen to my Heart" by "The Ramones" listen here http://www.mp3.com/tracks/179477/dl_streams.html .

Do Aussies use plates?

Besides wouldn't turning it into a plate competition downgrade it to a second class status.
Kind of like your U19's ended up in the plate competition after being knocked out of the world cup.
(not that our current u19 look like they are scaring the indians mind you.)
