I can live with this, I doubt some others can.

I could live without another another Devon Malcolm: England need that like they need a hole inthe head.

Typical nonsense really: it's political correctness got nuts to pick out Devon Malcolm as "someone who came to England as part of an immigrant family in Sheffield and someone who went on to take over 1,000 first-class wickets and show just what could be done".

Fraser knocked spots off him.. as did Caddick.. and Gough. All three were better role models. Daft.

Not sure to be honest. Maybe they work in the summer to fund their winter trips?

Saw a nice article about them the other day, though. http://www.carteblanche.co.za/Displa...ay.asp?Id=2698

Not sure as I agree with you there. Had Malcolm received the support that Caddick did I believe he would have been a far more potent weapon for England captains. And you really cannot compare him with Gus Fraser, that's like comparing Murali or Warne with Giles or Vetorri, so very different bowlers.

You want a role model of an ethnic minority whose family came to England and who showed what can be done?

NASSER HUSSAIN, England captain who turned the team around (Kinda chicken tikka masala personified with popadom fingers thrown in;-)

Might've been Andy Mellon, not sure, but he said something about one only being able to purchase ten tickets for a match in England, instead of Group Tickets for overseas...That could explain the Barmy Army Exile..

OK, you might not rate his as a test bowler ( I do, and had he had a Troy wassisname he could have been brilliant) but 1000 first class wickets is 1000 first class wickets. With the current england coaching set up I think he's a great role model, and I dont think its PC gone mad, just an obvious candidate for a role model. Also think financially disadvanteged rathter than than black on this one. The fact that big dev covers both camps is irrellevent.

Well, all I know Paoli is that you can only buy blocks of 10 tix on one card at Lord's. Not sure how it works at other grounds. Also, it seems to me that the whole crowd is 'barmy' at Edgbaston at the very least.
