problem being chaps, we're not blessed in the seam dept. When he's on song he's the best english bowler by miles, and when ihe isnt he's still not the worst (poor jimmy rates as the worst"when he's bad he's awful" award). So who do we put in instead ?

I would go for, in true knee jerk fashion, young Plunkett.

I don't think we should fire him, and I don't think he should **** off. Didn't see much sign of homesickness affecting his bowling when he was in the Caribbean, picking up wickets left, right and centre. I think he talked himself out of form in SA, and was looking for excuses.

I will agree, however, that I'm sick of hearing his problem over and over again. Yeah Steve, we get the point, now get on with some bowling, and try and work your way out of the problem. Unfortunately, by making this latest admission across the national and international press, he's given the Aussies enough ammo to psych him out of every test, and he's showing himself up as a mentally fragile character, which the Aussie mangement will target.

Well done Steve, well done Steve's agent and well done the ECB press officers. When will we ever ****ing learn!

ps - Chad Keegan for England - watch this space!

Isn't Keegan another of these South African born types? We could have Prior, Pietersen, Strauss and Keegan in the England team by the end of the summer. 4/11 would be born in South Africa then!!

How's about recalling Tudor? He's started the season well for Essex - and he can bat!

Prior born in South Africa?????

Dunno, but you're sure to have four foreigners anyway

Simon Jones (Wales)
Geraint Jones (Papua New Guinea)
Kevin Pietersen and Strauss (South Africa)

Nasser Hussain was the classic for me though...Middle Eastern name, Born In India, Captain of England!!

Nice kneejerk Mr Mellon ! Feasable too, if gooch can get (and keep) tudor on planet earth and out of treatment rooms for morethan a week.

Alas Milo, your kneejerk doesnt count as its too unfeasable.

I wonder if can nab the bbc swing-o-meter and turn it into a feasability/ kneejerk-o-meter????

That doesn't count as foreign, it's the England and Wales Cricket Board after all!

Why not complete the set? Bring in Stuart Law at No. 3. He won't be 37 until after the Ashes
