Battering 100 from Dawid Millan, such class and finesse to his shots, superb.

Class death bowling from Freddy though, but still, 177 to win from 21-4 is a great effort from Middlesex.

Just saw Freddie nick one through to Scott which didn't quite carry. It was fairly tight but no shout came. Even Shah at first slip who can easily get over excited waved his arms indicating no catch.

Also glad to see Cork and Flintoff congratulate Malan on his excellent innings.

That's how we play the game in England most of the time and I for one am delighted to see it.

On the half volley catch please take note Mr. Ponting.

Flintoff's innings was good insomuch as he has not that much cricket behind him - the way he got out to a FULL TOSS showed a lack of concentration.

And quite right to, was a winning innings.

Now Middlesex deserved to win, but I bet even their supporters could tell that "Vincent" was not out, the ball was going that far down the leg side, it would not have hit a fourth stump.

I think 20/20 is far far better played by the counties, this was a good match and anyone could have won until Cork got his stumps splattered by Henderson, Middlesex with their 176 scored just that to many for Lanc's to chase.Well played Middlesex.

The Vincent one was one of those that looked tight live but on reflection I believe was not out. I also am sure that Joyce was wrongly given out caught behind (and lets remember he is one of our best players in a very inexperienced side)

I have to commend the Lancs players for congratulting Malan. I state again full marks to the Lancs players for their congratulations to him and what we we learn from this is two main things. Firstly Richard Illingworth is not up to the task and secondly Flintoff most definately is.

I guess it will depend if England win or lose in the coming week.

Yes I was just having a little fun, in any case I believe the umpire is aways right - these things happen to all sides, and it does not detract all all from a splendid match, played by 2 splendid teams.

Well yep - I would to see more of this in International cricket, I watch this match played in good spirit, it really was an advert for cricket.

I am a Lanc,s supporter, and yes the folks I watched the match with - all agreed the innings by Malan was special, he batted Lanc's out of the game.
There were pluses for Lanc's and England also, Flintoff looked good with the ball, and until that lazy shot to the full toss, looked in good nick with the bat.

I am getting to the point I prefare County Cricket.

I know what you mean Ern. Mind you my lot are in a different league to your boys; both figuratively and literally!!

In any case I can't argue against you. After the painfull battle of adelaide in 2006 (remeber those late nights?)that would be like a private berating a general

Mark Davies seems to have a match like this every season, match figures to date:

20.4-8-37-9

Get him in the 3 lions

I've been saying that for ages, I don't care how fast he apparently isn't, he has averaged 21/22 for season after season ahead of most other (including international) bowlers and deserves at least a Lions place. Stunning match though!

He keeps getting injured Colly, he started off his career with a horrific car crash and a punctured lung, had the lung problem recur the year he came back, then suffered a stress fracture of the back...
I think he is sorted now as I'm told that he has had some really good biometric analysis and they have worked on building up specific muscle groups to balance the injuries and prevent undue strain on his body.

At the very least though Mark is a very resilient and hard working lad who uses his talent very well. When the conditions suit he is almost unplayable. In overcast humid conditions at the riverside he is always likely to be a big handful, as we have seen over the last 2 days.
