Regarding the SA franchises. I'm new, so please forgive if this has already been posted somewhere else.

Western Province Boland is now called the Cape Cobras. (and yes, they're planning to be venomous this season)
Last season they ended 3rd in the SuperSport Series (the 4day competition)

Captain is still Thami Tsolekile, the 'keeper. But this year the Cobras have a couple of imports. Ian Harvey from (Victoria, Australia). Monde Zondeki (Warriors), and The Zimbabwean skipper and 'keeper Tatenda Taibu.

I reckon if they both play, one of them will play as a batsman (that's logical)

Then of course, for most of the season they're gonna be without Graeme Smith, Jacques Kallis, Herschelle Gibbs and Ashwell Prince.

Anyway, they're playing the Dolphins (Kwa-Zulu Natal) the next 4 days. WIll be interesting.

Mods, Is it okay to post a thread on a Domestic First class match...to see how many safricans are interested?

Just a correction, foreigners are not allowed to take part in the Bangladeshi first class tournament, this Abdur Razzaq is a native Bangladeshi, matter of fact, he is a semi regular member of Bangladesh ODI side.

But foreigners are allowed in Dhaka leagues, world known players like Wasim Akram and Grant Flower have played here. Currently Steve Tikolo is playing in the Dhaka Premier league with lots of success along with subcontinental players like Sandip Sharma, Rashed Hanif, and Gurusinghe. The other famous African player who took part in the league this season was Tatenda Taibu, unfortunately his form was miserable and his team did not even make it into the super six phase.

Thanks for the correction, Tonku! I saw the name and thought it must have been the guy I'd heard of! As a matter of interest, are you are Bangladeshi supporter? Do you live in Bangladesh? Just wondering if that's why you know so much about the cricket there!

Its good that these known players go out to Bangladesh and play club cricket. It can only help standards to improve and speed Bangladesh towards being a world class team

I think you got it wrong mate

Warwickshire didn't win the county championship this year, that was sussex, (may i add that Lanchasire was robbed by the weather). In addition nethier did notts win the D2 title, they were relegated this year. Just thought I'd pull you up on it.

You learn something new everyday. I could imagine some poor people sneaking into the ground to in the ING competition in Australia to try and catch the ball for a 6.

Still, could do with a bit of an update with the West Indies domestic game. By the look of things, Stanford might be reorganising the statte of cricket in the Carribean.

Also, out oout of curiousity, any Australians i n the ING competition ever hit a six and won $50,000?
