| He'll not get another county, which is a shame. Bags of ability but no application. The last time I saw him bowl he had absolutely no idea where the ball was going, and was having trouble landing it on the cut bit. |

| I wonder if any private school would now consider him for a lucrative coaching contract?

| V ery very very unlikely. He'll be joining the young scamps behind the bike sheds for a crafty fag, turning up when he wants to, and probably wont wear a tie !

| I remember Schofield playing for England v Zimbabwe in 2000. At that point he was looking to become a top-class spinner in England and hopefully go on to play more for his country. I also remember him getting a 50 at Trent Bridge and hoping at the time he would flourish and really be a hopeful for the test team. I don't want to get into who's right or wrong in the legal battle (mainly because I don't really know that much about the situation), but it's not nice seeing someone who looked to be a good prospect in English cricket only 5 years ago, go through a really bad bowling patch and go on to come out of this sort of situation without a professional contract and a blurred future in the game. I suppose it doesn't help that leg-spin is a very difficult art to master. (I think he was a leg-spinner, please correct me if i'm wrong.) I think it's only fair to wish Chris Schofield all the best for his future whether it be in cricket or not. It's been a nasty situation for everyone involved and a career potentially over for a very talented young player. Good Luck Chris! |
