Somerset vs Australia

Has anyone else noticed the Aussie bowlers getting an absolute shoeing from (the admittedly non-english) Smith & Jayasuriya?

I know Taunton is a high scoring ground, but this is ridiculous!!

Yeah, I've just commented on it on another thread. I think it's absolutely marvellous - I wonder if Jeff Thompson is watching the Aussie 'net bowlers' in this game?

It looks like they might lose this one!! Somerset are currently 231-2 off 28 overs.

What a shame for the poor Aussies

And IMHO, very good captaincy by Smith. Chanced his arm by packing his side with bats, him and jayasuria (for once !) did well, stuck the lad francis to stead ythe ship then gambled on blackwell to give it some welly. If its one critism of vaughan I have its he too rigid with his batting order.

I agree there, Vaughan does seem keen to stick to a certian batting line up regaurdless of the situation, Flintoff's batting postion being the best example. Surely if England are 120 -2 off 20 overs, surely that is the ideal time for a Flintoff rather than a Strauss to come in to bat.

By the way, it's now 258-3 off 35 overs. I think Somerset have it in the bag. Mind you Ian Blackwell is at the crease, so anything could happen in the next half hour, good or bad!!

Somerset win by 4 wickets with three overs to spare - excellent performance.

The Aussies are on a roll - of defeats ;-)

Diabolical bowling by Kasprowicz, 8 overs for 89 runs!

This England tour seems like its going to be a disaster for Australia. They are losing to a county side, even though Somerset have some good overseas players. The cat is amongst the pigeons in the Aussie camp!!! Sign of things to come, this summer??

That's a relief ! Thought I'd put my foot on it with my rather bold prediction earlier this afternoon!!!

On that bowling performance, I hope Kasprowicz gets the nod in the ODI!!! Trecothick may will eat him alive in that form!!
