Obviously a big week in the County Championship with 5 games. Hopefully my team Derbyshire will finally win a game.

Notts will be taking on Surrey without Chris Read, who injured an ankle in last weeks destruction of the (soon to be ex) County Champions. Younis Khan will make his debut, replacing Fleming, against his best mate in cricket, Azhar Mahmood.

Well, after a disappointing result for Essex versus Lancashire - mainly with the bowling - I'm hoping we can get one over on Leicestershire this week. We haven't been doing well in the Championship, yet we seem to be dominating the Totesport - 8 points clear with a game in hand over Middlesex.

I'd be fairly happy with winning the Totesport and mid-table in the Championship; yet I still hope for promotion in the Championship. What surprises me most is how well we've been doing in the one dayers without our best one-day player, Graham Napier. When he's back we short be even stronger.

After the Durham game that finished Sunday we would be looking to build on the performance that saw Di Venuto get 203, and could with a little bit more luck with the weather have got our first championship win of the season and our first win at home for 3 years!

To get 539-7 dec after following on because of scoring 161 in your first innings shows we are inconsitent. I'd be nice to win one game though!

Well Derbyshire have had a terrible start Yorkshire are 400 plus for 3. To make matters worse me and my mate have had a bet on our Telegraph fantasy teams and Jaques who has 200 plus is in his team and captain.

Elsewhere, does anyone know why Thorpe isn't playing for Surrey, he is a player I brought into my fantasy team this week. In the Surrey game 18 wickets have fell on the first day for only 321 runs and Collingwood has again made a good score. Should he be in the England side as a batsman?

Well we've skittled them out for 570 now. Hopefully we can post a decent score on what looks like a decent batting track. It might be starting to spin though as Gray got 3 for fifty odd.

Well, Essex were doing well. All out for 297 (big Ronnie Irani getting 97) and Leicestershire are about 100 - 5. However, like many games I'm guessing, Rain has Stopped Play!

Di Venuto has just gone for 79, this probably means Yorkshire will be batting again tonight.

Di Venuto's County Championship figures this year are

Matches 10
Innings 19
Not Outs 2
Runs 1015
High Score 203
Average 59.70
50's 5
100's 3

Just think how crap we'd be without him!
