Good to see you still supporting Essex, Zainub. Danish hasn't had such an impact so far this season, but I still reckon he's key to Essex's success. We're clear in the one day league with a game to spare, and I'm hoping we win it. We're back in the promotion zone in the 4 day game, thanks to a nail-biter against top-of-the-table Durham (well played Andy Flower in that game) though Yorkshire have a couple of games in hand. Hopefully Essex will have something to celebrate at the end of the season.

At Essex, Graham Gooch is no longer head coach, but I think is just a batting consultant. Irani does some coaching, as does former Essex bowling legend, John Childs. Paul 'Larry' Grayson and the Flower Brothers also contribute to coaching at Essex - so there's a good line-up of county veterans in the mix.

I support Lancs. Don't get to see them that often anymore as I spend most of my time at Uni in Sheffield but try and follow them on TV and through the net whenever I can.

By casual I meant more something on the lines of occasional. I hope we win whatever games remaining there are in the season, gutted to know about Kaneria, hopefully the experience has done him some good.

Well Sean, I'm a Notts supporter - no surprises there. You might have a fight on your hands for the Championshiop title though. Notts have a game in hand on the Spitfires and back to back matches this next fortnight against Middlesex and Warwickshire both at Trent Bridge. It's looking like an interesting battle and might even go down to the last couple of weeks when we visit Canterbury!

I'm a county cricket whore (ahem) and have no particular allegiance for any team, although I have soft spots for Glamorgan (my husband's team), Sussex (where I live) Kent (Key fan) and Notts (Read fan).
I've been to a few Hampshire matches as The Rose Bowl is local, but I wouldn't say I had a real soft spot for them.

My first team is England, ahead of any county.

Unsurprisingly, I'm a Glamorgan fan but I don't get to see them much anymore as I now live in Reading (probably a good thing this season though!).

I'm just hoping we can win 1 Championship match this season before returning to Div 2 (but I'm not holding my breath to be honest)

You can live save in the knowledge that you will win at least 2 games next year - Derbyshire home and away. How many times have you followed on this season? Is Croft the right man as captain?

ps Why don't you pick a Glamorgan side in the 'Your favourite County XI' thread.

I'm a Victoria supporter in Australian domestic circles but have only ever been once; I don't really rate state cricket as a spectacle; probably because it's played in front of a .5% capacity crowd at the MCG of 500 people.

Also; in Zimbabwe I support the Matebeleland side; mainly because of one HH Streak, and I also support Hampshire in England, because of Shane Warne, Katich, Watson, Sean Ervine and KP.

I'm not even sure about that PR! We are at in again today - 7 down for not very many and the majority have been bowled. Even if we have had to resort to playing teenagers, the experienced players should be contributing a lot more.

As for the captaincy, I think Croft is probably the only realistic option. He is one of the best players in the side, has the strength of personality to get through the current problems and seems to have a half-decent cricketing brain from his contributions on Sky.

If anyone has to go it should be the coach who has had at least 2 cracks at the job but has never been successful. Maybe Duncan Fletcher will come back after he leaves England at the end of the summer after our victory in the Ashes!

I am thinking about my Glamorgan side but that little annoyance called 'work' keeps getting in the way at the moment. Will hopefully be able to post something before too long.
