Honours for Ashes Heros

In the New Year's Honours list:

Micheal Vaughan, Duncan Fletcher, David Graveney and Phil Neale are named Officers of the Order of the British Empire.

The rest of the team are made Members of the Order of the British Empire.

As the medals state: FOR GOD AND THE EMPIRE. We've waited 18 years for this. Quality.

Find it totally ridiculous that the likes of Pietersen and Bell are being awarded gongs at this stage of their careers.Seeing as they are being handed out like confetti why has Gary Pratt missed out?

The only reason is that you can't pick and choose England players to get them, if you are to give any, so the whole playing squad got them. There's already a campaign going for Pratt, and Graveney was joking yesterday about naming a stand after him at Durham!

Henners. I'm sure Chris Tremlett would miss out on an M.B.E so he could have a lengthy England career unlike Colli.

Yes I get the feeling that the gongs were meant as a team award for winning the Ashes, and yes it looks sillt when Pietersen and the like get the same gongs as the more experienced players, problem was-how could any Ashes team member be left out?.

I myself find it totally ridiculous that the England players are getting these awards from the Queen. Yes i know the Ashes victory was a time for great celebration but to give these pretidges awards is just ridiculous. I don't think they deserve this. What will be see next? Michael Vaughan getting knighted for winning the world cup?

These types of awards Waseem are for achievments be it in sport industry or whatever.

The problem with these particular awards that the players have not been seeded out, the team or certain individuals where always going to get some type of reward.
