Well I think we could do worse, Donalds aggressive attitude will IMO help the speedsters Flintoff Jones and Harmison stay an effective force.

Well only for the shortsightidness of the ECB, Donald taking over as coach would not be an issue.

Do you think Donald is the man for the job of keeping Englands pace attack on top?.
I could live with that.

Maybe, but I can't help feeling that Cooley is in a different league and way ahead of any other bowling coach, so I am still aggreived at his departure. The ECB have shot themselves in the foot big time.

However, I'd be very happy with Donald.

He did a decent job of helping Hoggard along when Hoggy played in South Africa as a youngster so i would not have a problem with him becoming the new coach. He has been there and done it and command instant respect.

I see from Chris Cairns retirement story on Cricinfo that he may be coming over here as a video analyst, now that is another guy who would help us no end.

Donald for coach ? Yes please. Did a bit of work coaching when he was playing at warks to some success I beleve. So while he isnt a troy cooley I think he'd be the next best bet.

Obviously the ECB will **** it up and offer him a 6 month contract at minimum wage.

Don't get ahead of yourself RBLC, they'll ask him to do it on a non-contract trial basis until they're "satisfied" he's doing a good job!

Yes Rich this is the one big chance for the ECB to cover up their blunder over Cooley, bet they nause it up, and it is a chance from the blue.

Donald is offering himself on a platter to the ECB, if they don't get him I think they will have missed two tricks on the trot, losing Cooley was bad enough, to miss out on someone who was such a class player as Donald would be shooting yourself in both feet.

Agreed Vrock, we'll have to wait and see what they decide to do - bright future with a bowling coach who has rattled and ran ragged every one of cricket's top batsmen of the 90's, or not. Hmm....

Agree and not only Harmisson and co but also a great help to some of the talented youngsters on the edge of the team.

Looks like hes got Nick Knights backing also,
