Sadly Hussey is out permanently, he has been told to rest by the Aussie management.

His response was that he still has unfinished business at the riverside so he hopes to come back again in a few years time.
We have in effect traded Maher for the entire season for Hussey for the middle part of it. Maher isn't as good but we get him (barring injuries) for longer. The expectation is that he will be back next year as well.
Mick Lewis hasn't made the Aussie team for Bangladesh either so we will have both overseas players from day 1.

Is it Warwickshire or Worcestershire he played for before? Whoever it was, he was looking to play for them again some time.

It's gutting about Huss. He's such a vital player for us, but if Jimmy continues his Pura cup form I'll be pretty happy. I was really hoping for us to get four or five seasons out of Hussey but he deserves his international chance and is performing amazingly well like we Durham folk knew he would! Looking for Muchall to really push on this year and maybe average 40-50?

McGrath played for Middlsex and Worcestershire but both counties have their over seas births filled for this season so he'll have to find another side.

So far Hayden, Clarke, Langer, Hussey, Lee, Watson and Symonds have been ruled out of the English season as far as I know. Maybe Symonds hasn't but I'm assuming his workload is now a bit much for him to play for Lancs again this year.

While I think about it, McGrath would only be available for a month (so i've heard), would any county take him on for that little time? Unless it was a county challenging for honours needing a bowler in September, I can't see it happening. He's getting on a bit anyway...

The Royals had Shoaib Akhtar for the last month of the season if my memory serves me, they also had Chris Gayle for a period as well.

To be honest would you deny a returning Glenn McGrath, the greatest quick bowler (that is still playing), a few chamionship games?

The Royals had him for the start of the season as well, i think... as for the point on McGrath, I suppose when you put it that way I should grudgingly agree...I just don't like him for some reason. Probably because he's Australian.
