Freddie DID get away with it for a while, but I'm not sure he should have done, and KP "I'm not changing my style for anyone" attitude smacks of arrogance. That I quite like, but in private I hope Big Dunc is wiring some electrodes into his box to encourage him to play more sesnsibly on foreign wickets. Like, for example, he did on the A tour a few years ago. I remember he did rather well.

He scored four centuries from what I've read. He certainly can play spinners as well as any England player and I think just eliminating the hair to some degree has shown he it trying to tidy himself up a little. Let's hope the same goes for his batting.

Why does his hair bother you flanflinger. As KP himself said the hair/earrings do not make him cover drive better, i find it all a little pompous to belittle some one for their hairstyle. It is the year 2006 surely anybody can have their hair any way they want it. And if a cricketer wants cornrows or dreads then so what, i will judge a player on how they are playing.

I for one am thankful for his 158 on the last day at the oval. For that alone he can grow his hair how ever he wants to and colour it all shades of the rainbow for all i care.

I agree. I like the fact he's got guts, and it really showed when he had a whole ground booing him in SA.

He has been branded arrogant, but I think his attitude towards his batting style is fair play. He recognises that it's not to everyone's liking, but he also recognises that it works for him. He will make adjustments throughout his career, as every batsman does, but I think he'd be foolish to dramatically alter his style of play. Some people might criticise him if he comes in at 20-3 and gets out playing attacking cricket. But it's better for him to play a natural game. Australia have often been under the cosh, only for the keeper, whether Healy or Gilchrist, to play some attacking cricket and change the course of the game.

What say you to this? I think KP may be trying to improve his image as a dedicated player by getting rid of the hair, and that b) he's running the risk of sunstroke by going to India with that length of hair. Mind, the badger barnet was a little bit silly at times...
Why on earth did he get rid of the hair???
He looked great with the spiked up hair, now his bold

Compare this to that

KP actually went through two phases to eliminate the hair. First he got rid of the sodium peroxide rubbish down the centre to leave it plain although he still spiked it up. Then he shaved it off....two reasons I'm guessing
a) he was planning to do this all along
b) when he sweats the gel in his hair began to run down his face and most likely caused a little chaos around the face

most of the players seem to shave their heads when they go on sub-continent tours, seems sensible as you'll be wearing a hat anyway for most of the days play, at least you don't have that extra layer of insulation.

KP needs to be told firmly to dig in and stick around no matter what especially on the subcontinent. The team is unbalanced at the moment with 2 hit and miss players, England need an extra grinder.
