Twenty20 Cup 2006

The third Twenty20 cup starts on the 27th June with the semi's and final on the 12th August at Trent Bridge.

We can use this thread to discuss the progression of the tournament and any thrills and spills along the way.

Seen as we have a few days before the first round of matches let's have a little prediction:

Who will get the glorious wooden spoon for each division?

North:
South:
Mid/West/Wales:

Edit: Just to be kind I thought I would provide a link to the list of the divisions.

I have my tickets to the rosebowl on the 7th July, Hampshire v Sussex, should be a good one, go hawks!

Saw Hants v Middlesex last year and witnessed the highest ever 20-20 score by Middlesex (at the time, fantastic innings by Owais Shah) and the highest ever run chase (although we still lost, just ), was a great night, really enjoyed it.

Forgot, my predictions:

North: Lancashire and Nottinghamshire

South: Hampshire (not biased ), Surrey

Rest: Somerset and Gloucestershire

VF!!! Notts never do well in the Twenty20. They always mess up big time and look very stupid!

Swanny's hit some batting form now so maybe he'll work as a pinch hitter this year!! Maybe, just maybe, Flem and Hussey will score the runs they ought to score. The batting's always letting us down.

Wooden spoons to: Durham, Middlesex and Northamptonshire.

To be honest we have always had the quality to win the competition but when the tournament comes around we never perform. If Flem and Huss get thier fair and deserved share of runs we should(should) be up there

Nah, we usually beat Yorkshire at least, though Twenty20 isn't really our thing!

Well from the beeb's listings Yorkshire are at the top of the table!

It's about as close as we'll get to the final unless Darren Lehmann scores a few centuries.
