| A fun day at Scarborough I had, a bit of sun (burn) thrown in there as well. The cricket was excellent from Leicestershire. They won the toss and batted first; on, of course, a good batting wicket they made a very good score with contributions from Paul Harrison (maiden half century) and Paul Nixon. Their stand, approaching the century mark, was crucial in Leicestershire keeping the score ticking over in the middle overs and bringing it back to, near enough, run-a-ball batting. Jeremy Snape, with only four boundaries, did very well to also tick over the scoring with singles and good running to sneak two. Yorkshire, in the field, were frustrating mainly; a dropped catch or two having made three early breakthrough's really took the wind out of sails. Gillespie bowled well early on, as did Kruis but the bowling in the middle overs was poor and the captain allowed for the (new at the crease) Leicestershire batsmen to take some easy singles with long on and long off never coming into the circle. Batting wise, the scorecard says it all; dismissed for 96 and only batting 26.3 overs is sad reading. Craig White, at the top of the order, struggled to find the boundary off some good line bowling which continually went to Snape at backward point. The guys at the other end could not keep a lid on proceedings and gave their wickets away cheaply whilst the run rate kept on going down. Credit to Leicestershire for the controlled, pressure creating, bowling. After the match, whilst waiting for the park & ride bus, I was also treated to some laughable (some semi-) drunk men trying to play cricket next to a main road. Attempting to use their arms as a bat they managed to hit the ball down the ground (round) a couple of times. Pro40 rating: A new logo but not much has changed once you get passed that.

Also, I didn't know Graveney accepted any kind of mail from people up north? Yorkshire (today) v England (SL series): A good tight contest it would be.

Back to the Pro40 cricket: GO Jo has scored some runs, thanks to being allowed by Fletch to play the game, for Kent with a 41 from only 42 balls batting at number three. Sadly the middle order could not fire and 229 did not seem enough (in the highlights In reply, James Benning hit 71 runs from only 51 balls with fifteen boundaries thrown in there. Clearly taking advantage of the fielding restrictions with only 11 off his runs scored with him having to run to the other end. After the top order firing Mark Butcher guiding Surrey home for a comfortable victory. Good to see Kent obliging with GO Jo playing, also in letting him bat up the order; good stuff.

| Somerset playing Kent in a floodlit game tonight, and Kent scored 213/8 off their 40 overs. That score was a lot more than was being threatened earlier in the innings. Dwayne Bravo finally starting to score some runs, top scoring with 45.

| A comprehensive win for Kent, over 100 runs! Seems the Justin Langer/Cameron White run machine stuttered today. |

| It's Tyron Henderson that really is giving Kent some boost in the bowling department, he's bowling at good pace and getting rewards for doing so. He's also a pretty good bat too! Saw Cameron White bowling for the first time today, he was extracted some spin and was causing problems after only a few deliveries, he's young and certainly has a bright future ahead of him.

| White is not a big turner of the ball, he is known as an unaustralian leg spinner. He bowls more like Kumble. Quick and flat.
