| Despite an average season, I think Fletch is a bit of a Joyce fan, and I'll think he'll feature. Broad looks pretty good, but I hope they use him correctly. Personally, I think Monty is better off out of the one-day scene for the moment - I'd prefer to keep him Test Match fresh. Damrymple has to get another go, and has already shown he can score runs which is more than Blackwell has. I'd get Chapple in straight away for the Kabir Ali / Bresnan 'bowler who bats' role.

| Chapple would have been playing against Sri Lanka had he not got injured in the ODI against Ireland. So I doubt that he will come back into the side for this series. Broad might be given a birth due to most of our other bowlers being injured, I wouldn't take him to the Champions Trophy or the World Cup though. I think we have messed about with this batting order so much now we don't have time to settle any young players: Cook, so far, has looked pretty limited and will struggle to play against top bowling to rotate the strike, his attacking game has not come to the fore so far and I think that needs time to develop. Bell, I would say, is more developed in the holding role and can rotate the strike more effectively but, just like Cook, doesn't really have the attacking game that will be needed later in the innings. Loye, as well as answering the opening problem, can take advantage of the new ball with his unorthodox shots and has the ability to rotate the strike as well. He's got the game and he's got the form.
