Good point, why is Prior there? Might as well stick Read in, he is by far a better keeper and is a pretty nifty 20/20 batsman as well. Perfectly qualified.

Dont get me wrong, I'm no Matty prior apologist. However, I think both Read and Jones should be kept away from 20/20 cricket ( i have picked none of englands TestXI) to concentrate on learning front foot play ahead of the ashes, and also in reads case to keep whatever teeth he has left...

I do think Prior is a better bat than both of them, and 20/20 is best suited to a guy who can keep just-about-adequately and bludgeon the odd delivery. Young davies might be a solid bet though...

I would at least put one or two of England's normal XI in there, purely because the experience they can show the young guns, I wouldn't ever field an inexperienced England side with little recent International experience...

Matt Prior is better suited to 50 overs cricket, it allows him to get his eye in better down the order and then play the aggressive cricket, he doesn't do too great in Twenty20 either. I would back Chris Read to be able to slog-out from the off though, his keeping is superb as well.

If you want a fielder try Notts' Will Smith, he took the amazing boundary catch on finals day.

Crikey mate, this is the England forum! No overseas players in this side!

Interesting choice in having Irani at number four darksideofthemoon considering he's done so well opening for Essex.

Interesting choice omitting Darren Maddy too, surely he'd walk into a Twenty20 side?
