| Montgomerie gets a reprieve for his dropped catch off Luke Wright's bowling, Hogg had pulled the ball to mid-on only for the catch to be dropped on the first ball of the over. By the last ball of the over Hogg did the same again but this time Montgomerie hung on. Out comes Tom Smith, he is certainly no mug with the bat. 130-7, 42 from 46 balls required.

| Well played Sussex you outplayed Lancashire this time, bad batting by Hogg and Mahmood did Lanc's no favours. Well done James Kirtley. Oh well we still have the County Chapioship to look forward to

I've been an impartial observer but it's good to find Sussex winning in the end: it's been fully deserved and caps a stunning comeback. Despite losing, Cork might still get man of the match... but I'm very pleased for Kirtley: he's been through a bit since his last England appearance and if he gets MoM that would be excellent (though scant consolation for those many Test caps he might otherwise have mustered). |

"Pajama games" I don't mind at domestic level, I have seen loads of gripping finishes at this level.

| Sussex won. Great performence from James Kirtley and a good performence behind the stumps from Prior. Sussex didn't post a very good total but it proves that any score can be good. |
