Looks like England will be fielding a very inexperienced bowling attack if it's Onions, Lewis and Broad. Can't see England winning any matches in this series with such an inexperienced bowling attack. Goughie was handy with the bat as well. That will also be missed. Once again England show that they aren't interested in winning matches otherwise they'd play a good county veteran with some experience like James Kirtley.

Good luck to Graham Onions. They should put Paul Mustard as wicket keeper.

So I guess Lewis and Broad will open the bowling and Mahmood and Clarke will be first change. None of these are death bowlers. Should be fun.

I'm a bit confused about Tremlett as well. He ticked all the Fletcher boxes - Tall, good bounce, decent pace, knows one end of a bat from the other - got injured without doing anything wrong and hasn't had a sniff since. Bit unfair, really.

Only half a joke picking Mustard for England, he is a really destructive batsman with two CC centuries to his name this year.

I don't mind a clueless kid like Broad making a mess of things... but if Gough can't be relied upon to provide decent backup for Lewis then he ain't worth his spot.

This does not bode well for Onions doing any better, and as Mahmood is arguably even less likely to keep things tight, Sidebottom, Tremlett or Mascarenhas would surely have been a better bet.

To be fair Onions has taken a stack of wickets this year, yes he is still raw but he can bat a bit.
From what I have seen of him he is a genuine prospect.
Another off the Durham production line, from what I've heard more coming through as well.
