Welcome back the Beeb, it has taken them long enough!!

Will be good to get to see some of the Ashes, before I head out there!!

I am still to be convinced that the highlights will be a reasonable length and at a reasonable time, but live in hope that they have taken this step, so they may actually want to show the Cricket when people are actually watching.

If they show them too late in the evening, the next days play will have started which will be barmy. On weekends though I still expect them to get a prime slot in between the fencing and the showjumping....

Glad for you guys back at base, but there's a sting in the tail of that article: TMS will only be available online to UK users, which includes me out.

I understand that the ABC's coverage will be available online in most of the world though, so all is not lost - yet! Just hope I can find it come the Brisbane test.

Here's hoping! But Sky will no doubt have a clause precluding the Beeb from showing highlights before the Sky highlights package has aired.

Aside from the quality of coverage, won't it be great to hear that familiar theme tune again? You have to hand it to the BBC ... cricket, Formula 1, snooker, Match of the Day ... they do pick a cracking good tune for their sport.

Soul Limbo didn't disappear. It has been used to introduce TMS on the radio for at least the last two summers.

Ahh, a reminder to me to check the country forum before posting in ITC. Well doe the Beeb, but they aren't redeemed yet for standing by whilst Sky swept cricket off many of our screens.

I'm glad I have Sky. But I look back to last year when it was on 4. Me and my mate "housesitting" (translated: get very drunk) while watching the cricket. We cheered like cheerleaders when Giles scampered those 2 runs.

As I understand it the plan is to present the previous day's highlights immediately before the start of the next day's play: makes sense - ideal, really. A lot better than the ridiculous coverage this summer: we missed every single one because we (persumably like many others) never got around to sitting down before 8.30 / 9.00 (or even 9.30) when the evenings were light.

The idea that youngsters should be encouraged to sit in front of the TV instead of outside in the summer sunshine made thay policy particularly absurd: not the worst plan in winter but NOT a sane summer solution.

What highlights at 7.15-8 are worse for youngsters than 11.30PM!! (or later as was often the case with Channel 4 and the BBC), when most should be in bed!!!

At least with the highlights this year they weren't moved and changed because of another more important event (like Big Brother!!). 7 PM is prime time and thanks Channel 5 for keepin the highlights there.

I've been through it, Pete: I'm afraid the broadcasters are onto that one nowadays. I've had techies all over the job here in the last couple of winters, and it just won't work. I'm hoping I'll be able to find the ABC coverage without too much trouble.
