Sorry son...you're out...

The clearance has begun:
http://content-uk.cricinfo.com/ci/co...ml?CMP=OTC-RSS

Seems Adil Rashid and Mark Lawson have sounded the death knell for Richard Dawson, and Jon Lewis' experience is leaving Durham as Gary Scott and Garry Park asserted themselves well late this season, with park just scoring his maiden first class century against Yorkshire.

Will Jefferson, selected in the WAT England A Team in 2004, has left Essex for newly-relegated (sorry!) Nottinghamshire.

It's that time of year I'm afraid. Have to feel for Dawson, but he is only in his mid-twenties, so will probably get picked up by someone soon

Jefferson must be shocked. When he signed Notts needed fewer than ten points from two matches to avoid relegation!! Oh well, he'll be able to settle in at Trent Bridge against some of the lesser attacks in County Cricket!!

I get the feeling there will be a lot of "transfer" activity this winter. Two of the Warwickshire youngsters Moeen Ali and Poonia have already left for neighbours Worcestershire and Gloucestershire respectively. All is not well at Edgbaston.

Amazing with Dawson,4 years ago he toured with England for the 2nd successive winter and now this.Comaprisons with Schofield's fall from grace spring to mind.Good luck to him i am sure he will get another county as he is a useful lower order bat as well.It shows that they have faith in Rashid and Lawson though.

David Stiff has left Kent,he was hyped up a couple of years ago and has never come through.

Losing Nick Knight is a huge blow... but if I am right in understanding that Dominic Cork is expected to move to Warks as captain the prospects of upheaval must be great!

Hopefully Cork will get us fired up.

Hardly surprising. Kent can't maintain quicks for love nor money. I honestly can say only one player to come through the ranks as a quick bowler in the last five years is any good, and that's Amjad Khan.

Stiff was never given a chance at first XI level, couldn't really do anything for the seconds either.

Anyone looking for a keeper should be looking at O'Brien, seeing as Kent are (foolishly) ditching him?

I'm sure (and indeed I hope after his rough treatment) that he racks up runs for fun against Essex next season.... As long as Essex paste every other team

Good Lord! As a Middlesex fan, I'd be looking to hoover up a load of these players - we'll take Stiff, O'Brian, Dawson and Lewis.

As I understand it, the only good thing we've done this season is get rid of a load of dead wood - Louw, Betts, Styris, Ali (all useless) and Weekes (retired). Unfortunately, rumour is rife amongst the fans that Keegan is already going (looking for more money).
