See BBC or cricinfo

Note: title changed from "Ramps deposes" to "Ramps succeeds".... though after Freddie took the award two years running one did get the impression it might be getting a permanent home :-)

I hardly think "deposes" is the right word to use. It was hardly a Blair/Brown popularity contest.

And as Freddie has been injured all season, he was hardly likely to be in the race. The fact is that Ramps had an awesome season and deserved the award.

But let's put this into context, there is a BBC award coming up in the winter that Ramps may also win, but the it won't be the one Freddie won last year...

I can only assume that Mushy's constant appealing put some off voting for him. His performance in the Top Division should easily have won him the award.

The one that Freddie won last year looks like going to an Irish golfer not an underachieving former test player.

Well Rachael Ramp's was player of the year - you can tell that because he is not in the England side .

But I fail to see how Flintoff comes into this, he has played very little this year.
