County Cricket - Off season talk

If anything happens that remotely affects the county game then this is the place to post it.

What a signing if everything goes through. To have Younis in the middle order will be absolutely brilliant and he could captain Yorkshire to the Championship title...

And of course, Vrock, the response to that is: You don't have Lehmann anymore, you don't stand a chance!

Kent have announced their overseas players for next year to be Andrew Hall and Yasir Arafat, but of course what we need is seam bowlers. Any good ones floating between counties at the moment?

Please have Ottis Gibson, we will pay you to! Take Jimmy Maher and Gordon Muchall too.

Ottis Gibson must be doing something for Durham behind the scenes because his performances haven't exactly been great.

Oh shoot! [myself in the foot] I forgot about that small detail... Well my respnse to that is: We have Adil Rashid; the next [lower-]middle order wizard and can bowl pretty good leg spin as well.

We need a decent bat to replace Lehmann and we will win it with legspin. So there.

I reckon we will finish above Kent anyway.

We need the money...but not the batsmen. Sorry!

And we have Joe Denly, who says he can bowl leg-spin as well. Except it doesn't turn. At all. On a spinning wicket.

I reckon if Derbyshire were in Division 1 they'd finish above us too, it's that dire down here!

Ottis Gibsons coaching as well isnt he? He certainly was when he was at Leics, before he came back to playing.

He can stick to that then, no need to block young talent that is far better than him now!

Durham Sign Di Venuto

http://www.sunderlandtoday.co.uk/Vie...icleid=1813650

Well, I'm impressed, Di Venuto has been the star in a poor Derbyshire side for a few seasons now and has to be a better top order bet than Maher. We've also signed Will Smith from Notts, Claydon from Yorkshire and Will Gidman, brother of Alex.

You have to be joking Colly, Otis was one of the best batsmen in the Durham Squad last year, I have heard that he bowls a bit as well from time to time.
