Who should replace Tres

Simple question who would you call up...

The obvious candidates are

from the A team

Joyce
Yardy
Shah
Dalrymple
Clarke
Key

Or outside of that

Smith (Ed)
Ramprkash
Crawley
Butcher

So who would you choose?

The outside list shouldn't be considered. The players in Perth were picked for a reason and that was to be on standby for the main squad so we have to stick with our continuity and pick one of those.Looking at the list it would appear to be a choice of 3 between Key,Joyce and Shah and personally i would just go for Key as he has experience of Australia and can open the batting if we need him to.

It's a good job Joyce is based at Perth... because the other options do NOT inspire! I can't see England looking beyond that small pool of players though. Unfortunate really.. as Ramps in particular has done well against the Aussies.
Code:
                     Mat I NO Runs HS1 HS2 HS3 Ave 100 50 0
v Australia 12 24 2 933 133 72 69* 42.40 1 6 0
in Australia 6 12 2 493 72 69* 63 49.30 0 5 0
I'd actually prefer a half-fit Vaughan back to the arrival of another newbie from Perth.

The selectors will surely call up someone from the academy.
In which case, Owais Shah would be the best option. Ed Joyce, and Rob Key should also be taken into consideration.

Ramps, and Crawley have both had admirable seasons, so on merit, they shouldnt be taken out of the equation.
I will be really suprised if Mark Butcher is called up. That would be a step backwards as far as im concerned.

Which he probably will, I'd certainly vote for him if pushed.

I'd personally pick Joyce over Shah and Key - Joyce I can see opening the batting, unlike Shah, and Key's just had a relatively poor season with the bat, while Joyce has impressed and forced himself to the front of the queue.
