Apart from one big hundred - what exactly did Colingwood do to overtake Bell? Bell did not convert his 50's into 100's, but he passed 50 on 4 occasions (only KP could match that), and if I am correct Collingwood failed to get passed 30 in his last 7 innings?

I would have Bell over Colly, I would also keep Harmy, but ensure that when he next plays he has a decent number of overs under his belt!!

I would also start to question whether Read or Jones should be challenged by Foster or Davies. Personally I would opt for Davies.

As for dropping Cook for Tresco... my view on that one is simple. Tresco is not up to it, and so IMO will need a longh time out of the game till he is...

Colly has faltered as the tour has gone one. Bell would probably start ahead of him as you say. tresco should bee discounted IMHO. Cook is the future and his talent should be nutured.

Davies is the heir to the throne/ poisoned chalice. I'd be inclined to give Read and first two Tests against the Windies to score some runs. However, I don't see that happening. Davies should get a go, as any of England's top seven will score runs against the Windies attack in UK conditions.

I don't think Trescothick should be selected to play for England for quite some time, it's hard to make a properly informed judegment on the matter due to the limited information we've been given, but he is suffering from a 'stress-related illness' and I think it would quite risky to select him until he has fully recovered from that, if he does. I would also point out that, depending on what exactly this 'stress-related illness' is, it is quite possible that he will never recover from it sufficiently to cope with the stress of international cricket.
