That's all very well, but what has Pietersen actually done recently?!

The rankings are a joke. They mean absolutely zero

So well done KP, you have climbed to the top by getting decent scores against crap teams. Well done, definatly the best ODI batsmen in the land....

Well what about Blackwell over Panesar(99)? - the problem is theses rankings are never in date, Gough does not play anymore - Dalrymple at (96) is about right .

He had a good rating anyway, then got injured and missed a lot of games. He has scored 3 50's in his last 4 ODI's and the players above him have dropped off in form so it is logical he is now number 1.Whether he stays there the next few weeks will tell.

Hmm, dhoni and Hussey have dropped off form, but ponting has been better than pietersen. Unless someone had stats that prove me wrong...

Besides, the rankings are inaccurate and misleading. One day you are the best, the next you are not. I sense a lack of substance in the system....

Of course i might just be biased taking into consideration i don't like KP as a batsman.

Ponting has certainly scored more centuries since Pietersen's last in 2005.

Join the club. I know that I am biased, but that does not alter the fact that I don't like KP, period. There is something about the man's manner that gets my blood pressure up and to watch him play alongside a nice guy like Collingwood annoys me even more.

I think Ponting is much better he has scored more runs than KP in think. I think Ponting deserve No 1 spot and KP no 2. Hussey and Dhoni Drops and Sangakarra Up is quit right.
