County Cricket 2007 Prediction League

As usual, a prediction league for this year's English county season. The questions are the same as in the last two years but to keep things fresh, another completely different tie-breaker.

(i) Winner of the County Championship
(ii) Who will be relegated from CC1
(iii) Who will be promoted from CC2
(iv) Who will finish with the wooden spoon in CC2
(v) Who will win the National League (40-40)
(vi) Who will be relegated from NL1 (40-40)
(vii) Who will be promoted from NL2 (40-40)
(viii) Who will finish with the wooden spoon in the National League
(ix) Who will win the C&G Trophy
(x) Who will win the 20:20
(xi) Who will have the highest County Championship batting average (qualification of over 10 innings)
(xii) Who will make the highest individual score of the season
(xiii) Who will score the quickest century in all competitions of the season
(xiv) Who will have the lowest bowling average (qualification of over 20 wickets)
(xv) Who will take the most wickets across all competitions

The cut off date is April 20th. Happy predicting.

(Tie breaker, Most runs conceded by an individual bowler in an innings? 2 points to the person closest either side of the actual figure)

It's still two-up, two down for CC1/CC2 and three-up, three-down for NL1/NL2, right?

(i) Winner of the County Championship - Lancashire
(ii) Who will be relegated from CC1 - Kent, Worcestershire
(iii) Who will be promoted from CC2 - Nottinghamshire, Essex
(iv) Who will finish with the wooden spoon in CC2 - Glamorgan
(v) Who will win the National League (40-40) - Essex
(vi) Who will be relegated from NL1 (40-40) - Warwickshire, Gloucestershire, Worcestershire
(vii) Who will be promoted from NL2 (40-40) - Durham, Surrey, Glamorgan
(viii) Who will finish with the wooden spoon in the National League - Somerset
(ix) Who will win the C&G Trophy - Hampshire
(x) Who will win the 20:20 - Lancashire
(xi) Who will have the highest County Championship batting average (qualification of over 10 innings) - Phil Jacques
(xii) Who will make the highest individual score of the season - Phil Jacques
(xiii) Who will score the quickest century in all competitions of the season - Darren Lehmann
(xiv) Who will have the lowest bowling average (qualification of over 20 wickets) - Mushtaq Ahmed
(xv) Who will take the most wickets across all competitions - Mushtaq Ahmed

(Tie breaker)

Most runs conceded by an individual bowler in an innings? 160 in the CC, 95 in the NL, 70 in the Twenty20. If it's just one figure then I'll say 160.

Almost right, it's two-up two-down with a playoff between third and third-bottom in the Pro40. So you could put two or three teams down for parts (vi) and (vii).

(i) Winner of the County Championship - Hampshire
(ii) Who will be relegated from CC1 - Worcestershire, Durham
(iii) Who will be promoted from CC2 - Nottinghamshire, Middlesex
(iv) Who will finish with the wooden spoon in CC2 - Glamorgan
(v) Who will win the National League (40-40) - Lancashire
(vi) Who will be relegated from NL1 (40-40) - Glamorgan, Northamptonshire
(vii) Who will be promoted from NL2 (40-40) - Hampshire, Somerset
(viii) Who will finish with the wooden spoon in the National League - Kent
(ix) Who will win the C&G Trophy - Gloucestershire
(x) Who will win the 20:20 - Essex
(xi) Who will have the highest County Championship batting average (qualification of over 10 innings) - Rob Key
(xii) Who will make the highest individual score of the season - Sean Ervine
(xiii) Who will score the quickest century in all competitions of the season - Ravi Bopara
(xiv) Who will have the lowest bowling average (qualification of over 20 wickets) - Muttiah Muralitharan
(xv) Who will take the most wickets across all competitions - Mushtaq Ahmed

Tie break - and we'll take CC innings here - 145.

Note to Adam and AY. You may want to change your pro 40 relegation tips. Unfortunately the mighty Middlesex were relagated last season and so we are playing in division 2 already!!
