Well, in all fairness very few people's bowling action is perfect, it's how well you use the action you've got that matters.

Hoggard?!? He of the 7.52 average and the hangs-around-for-a-bit-but-scores-bugger-all?

Anyways... MCC 425 all out, Sussex 365/8 in reply after Goodwin hit a century and Yardy retired hurt on 99!

Harmison broke Yardys finger with a fast lifter apparently. He also hit Kirtley.

If Harmison keeps this up I'm looking forward to him proving that he is a better fast bowler than the likes of Tremlett and Broad will ever be. If Jones' rehab continues I'm also looking forward to a productive summer for England.

Oh yes, so he did: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/cricket/6557481.stm

Kirtley got hit on the elbow, not really where a bowler wants to get hit in all fairness. Onions produced a really good spell of 3 for 4 in 13 balls, while Harmy got the ball to spit up at the batsmen from just shy of a length. It's odd, Harmison always says he doesn't like bowling at Lord's, but when he does he always seems to bowl bloody well!

It is, especially as the slope should assist him and recently the Lords wicket has had a bit of pace and bounce in it. To be fair to Harmy if he's bowling half decent I dont think they are many other bowlers you'd want if you had a bouncy fast pitch.

Regarding the injuries I hope Yardy recovers quickly and Kirtley isnt too badly damaged, they were unlucky to come up against a fit and fired up Harmy. It would be a shame if they missed too many games getting injured in a "friendly"

Bit harsh on Broad who is not even 21!! Think the guy has bags of potential and I think it is too harsh to say he will never be as good as anyone.

Good to see Harmison back and bowling aggressively, economically and taking wickets!! Lets hope that Jones gets his fitness back, and Hoggard finds some form, and we will have an attack back that can take on anyone.

Shah completed his hundred today and remained unbeaten on 120 as the MCC declared well ahead, with Davies also remaining on 25 not out having scored 38 in the first innings. Hoggard (2), Gidman (1) and Rashid (1) bagged wickets before the match was declared a draw with Sussex on 127/4 chasing 368.

A good run-out for the established England internationals, the up-and-coming players (especially in the bowling), and the Sussex boys save for those injuries (tut, tut Stephen! ). I'm looking forward to the new season, and have just booked my tickets for the fourth day of the West Indies test at Old Trafford (square of the wicket, very nice) - I hope there's a full day in it for me and my chums!!!
