| Well, I'm not surprised that Matt Prior's making positive noises; having worked under Moores at Sussex, he's more than likely to be named as England wicketkeeper should Moores get the job. Personally, I'd rather see Moores stay on as Academy Manager where he seems to be doing a good job, but he certainly hasn't proved himself to have enough experience to take such a tough job now. |

| I heard an interview with David Morgan on TMS during the WI v Bangladesh luncheon interval (think it was Arlo White interrogating). Morgan was keeping his cards pretty close to his chest but the (subtle) impression he gave was that Moody was the man they wanted to fill the vacancy permanently (Moores will definately take over as caretaker). According to Ricky Ponting though, Moody removed himself from consideration for the Aussie coach's position after Buchanan because he didn't like the idea of more years of travel. If Ponting and Langer are on the mark, Morgan has no chance of securing him. However, if the ECB make him an offer he can't refuse and he accepts it would be a right slap in the face for Australia, as the impression I get from the Aussie press is that Kim Nielsen was always second choice to Moody. |

| Moody Id like to see him as Coach but if not how good is Moores ? Mike Watkinson has done a good job with Lancs but Dav Whatmore has done good work with Sri Lanka and Bangedesh might be worth a punt |

| We need Watkinson at Lancs. England can't have him. Good reports from Academy and Sussex players about Moores. I would be more worried who our selectors are going to be if there is any change. | If its just an interim appointment fine But I would have thought a total clean out of English Cricket was called for from the board through to the coaching and even the team captaincy. I would have thought the order things should be done are Throw open all position's on the board and hold an election. When the new board is in place advertise world wide for national coach The new board would also examine selection procedures Interview and appoint the national coach Selection commitee appoint team captain and vice captain |

| I think Moores is a good appointment because a) He turned Sussex from a virtually bankrupt team to a winning one, true he had mushys help but hey he was in charge and he did do it. b) He is young and seems like a person not too fond of skullduggery and the old boys club which fletcher was c) He has also been the acadmys director so he would know whats what as far as bench strength is concerned, also means he has an eye to spot new talent d) Local coach is always easier to settle with for the team and he is known and is being reported for his good people skills, being someone who has not played the game himself at an international level helps also because noone can compare his test record to his decisions and there are lesser egos to collide with all in all a smart quick and good decision, shows the ECB were prepared.
