How does Dalrymple earn a place in the performance squad?

Nixon or Prior for the gloves, I doubt many on here will be entirely happy with that and the omission of Foster or Davies. Nice to see Shah in there, and to see that they are keeping an eye on Tresco.

How does Yardy? His last scores were 4, 4, 10 and he took no wickets and was dropped from the one day side and now he is back.

And Dalrymple 3,2,1 and 0 wickets.

I would only be happy with that only if Prior was allowed nowhere near the gloves; and I'm sure Rach would agree with me on that point. Prior is even less of a keeper than Geraint Jones was when he was first selected, and Nixon (as yet) has not done anything horrifically as bad as Jones did.

As for Davies, I feel the same for him as I do for Rashid - he should be left to mature a bit longer before being called up. No point rushing him in, like we did with Foster.

I dont think theres anybody on here who wants to see Prior anywhere near the keepers gloves .

A full season in County cricket would do Rashid and Davies the world of good, IMO the experience will hold them in good stead for when the time comes.

On an anti Dalrymple note, how did he get anywhere near the squad, have England ever picked a worse player?? To think he was on the verge of a test cap against the Aussies last winter .

Is anyone else thinking Moores has got some Sussex bias in the 'keeper selection (assuming he was part of the selection process)? I can just about understand Nixon being included, given his fairly good performances behind the stumps and with the bat. But I just cannot see what Matt Prior has done to deserve this opportunity. Chris Read appears to have been ignored, again, which is just stupid given how well he did (with the gloves certainly) last summer.

Mike Yardy's selection is completely pointless in my eyes. He's nowhere near test selection and I think his one-day career went down the pan when he played so poorly last year.

He's a poor selection, but Yardy has done even less. Nice to know that players can feel like they can walk back into the mix whenever they like.. Trescothick and Harmlessone.

Not just thinking, I was expecting it the instant he was appointed. As for Yardy, he's injured at the moment isn't he? How can anyone gauge what form he's in given that he hasn't played in a serious match since September?
