Pothas is too old. End of story. We should be picking someone in their twenties.

He does love choosing our side for us. In Australia he couldn't figure out why Jones and Giles were chosen over Read and Panesar and he thinks Tremlett and Mascarenhas should be playing for England as well as Pothas, of course.

To be honest the reason behind such a keeping delma is that Alec Stewert played till he was 40, leaving the other s too young or too old. Look at read playing at 21years old far too young so after by passing an era off the gerraint jones comedy we are left debating weather 30 year olds should be getting thier first england cap or not, though experiance is important an i feel that Nixon should get the nod as he has been in and around the england set up for quiet a few months and at least deservers a chance, especially if he is going to play ODI's as the keeper should be the same for both test and one day and we are all agreed that he has done enough to play ODI's with his strong all round preformances and potenitial match winning innnings.

Personally, I think Nic Pothas is a very good choice... Okay, so he's 33. But he can play for another 3 years imo.

7 years ago he made his debut for the Proteas, he averaged 800 runs per season for Hampshire and his batting average the past 2 seasons was 64 and 52 respectively.

Even Shane Warne also believes Moores should not look any further than Pothas...

I just like him because I think he's better than Boucher but did not get the opportunities Boucher got.

Personally i don't want another foreigner in the side but if they go with Pothas so be it.I think Prior will get the nod for the 1st test and might even bat at 6 above Flintoff to ease his burden and despite not being convinced about his glovework i will give him a fair chance but should he fail i will slaughter him.

Davies can be ruled out for this year as he has started the season badly and missed yesterday's play at Headingley due to a family bereavement, the lack of form may well be linked but i think it would be wise to leave him for 12 months more and take him on the A tour this winter.

As for the rest,i would be happy with Foster or Read and even Nixon in the short term but anybody is better than Geraint Jones so we are improving the side i guess.

Hmm... debatable. There's no doubt Jones' 'keeping has improved since he first played for England, and if he could score some decent runs for once he wouldn't be such a bad choice. That train's long gone though.

And trust me, I could be worse than Geraint!

I would like to alter my previous statement to "...Jones' 'keeping had improved".

, to be fair when he was playing for England his keeping had improved. Now, he cant seem to score a run or take a catch.
