Panic... let's bring back any name we can think of!!

Seems to me that a number of names have been mentioned recently of old tired failures, who can do reasonably well at County but have never done it where it counts at Test level, so who else can we bring back?

Criteria, they have to be over 30, having a batting average under 35, or a bowling average over 35 (dependant upon their skill)

My man to bring back....

Roni Irani!!

Any more really rubbish players you can think of?

Bring Back Boycott! Hed make the Windies attack work hard for his wicket. Could also be brought back in the top order of the One Day team to boost the confidence of Vaughan, Strauss and Bell by making them seem not as sluggish as they really are!

Yep FF - but some are still in the England team .

What about D Pringle, or Gavin Hamilton, or even Anthony McGrath.

Jason Gallian? He's had a couple of good knocks this season so could fill Vaughan's place in the side

Bit harsh on Ronnie when he's averaged over 50 with the bat in the past few seasons and can no longer bowl. Would I like to see him play for England - no. Was he the worst player to ever play for England - no. If he was 25 and averaging this sort of level with the bat, would he get a deserved mention - yes!

I understand that, but Ronnie these days is only a batsman. When he was an all-rounder, he didn't average sixty with the bat!! He's different player these days. Certainly not 'rubbish'!!

Blimey, I can't even do a slightly tongue in cheek Thread without someone taking offence...

PS a Test batting average of 17, is a bit rubbish though
