4th Round of Championship Matches

I see the Joe Sayers grindathon continues today. He's currently 4 off 30 balls!!

Collingwood's failed for Durham today, out for a duck.

He has speeded up now,9 off 43 with a boundary, must have edged through the slips.

Tresco has got his double ton and with KP doubtful and Vaughan already out i guess the press will be talking him up for a recall for Lords next week.

I would hope that Owais Shah gets a call up to replace KP. He was left out unfairly after his Mumbai debut. The rest picks itself.

Tresco's on 264 now!

Wouldn't be upset if Shah was chosen but i think if we give a cap to a new/hardly tried player it will be Ed Joyce.

Me too. From county cricket to Test cricket I don't see any difference in the way Shah plays but Joyce looks less like the player that he is in county cricket in the ODIs. Maybe because he is not used to opening but the vacant spot will be the number 3 position. If Pietersen is out then maybe the batting might look like this -

Strauss, Cook, Shah, Bell, Joyce Collingwood, Flintoff, keeper, Harmison, Hoggard, Panesar or
Strauss, Cook, Shah, Bell, Collingwood, Flintoff, keeper, Plunkett, Harmison, Hoggard and Panesar.

Can somebody please introduce the Taunton groundsman to an alternative use for a cricket bat.

We have to be fair to the Taunton groundsman here, this game is being played on the road outside of the County Ground at Northampton.

Well I have heard of batsmen saying "now if I could only roll up that pitch and take it with me..." You don't think Tresco has found a way to do it do you?

Maddy hit a century for Warwickshire, but the rest of the batting order didn't do much. Warwickshire stand on 221/4 with Maddy on 133* and Loudon on 0*.
