I still think that Panesar would have been a better uncovered wicket bowler. I mean Underwood bowled even quicker again and he wasnt exactly renowned for being innefective on oncovered wickets

What I would say though is that Tufnell would have been far more effective in the current team. For a start there is the better management and from a bowling point of view he would actually have large totals to bowl at instead of the usual "England have been bowled all out for 170", necessitating the defensive bowling.
