Mahmood took wickets in Australia, Plunkett has took important wickets - both are the future of England pace bowling, had Flintoff been abandened after his worse start, then England would not have won the Ashes in 2005.

Neither Lee nor Tait are all that accurate, but they are effective bowlers o not team has ever been grair just playing medium pacers.

Example Match winners.

Lilee - Thompson

Marshall - Holding

Walsh - Ambrose

Williss - Botham

Trueman - Statham

Harmison/ Flintoff/Jones

H Larwood.

All players known for not just pace, but also there accuracy, in fact it was Larwoods ability to bowl exactly where Jardine asked him, that made him so useful.

Plunkett, Mahmood are future England bowlers, but so are Broad and Anderson. Mahmood picked up five wickets in three Ashes test, with an average of 52!! So hardly a series to write home about Ern.

Pace is not everything, it needs to be combined with something more - Harmison = Bounce, Flintoff = Consistency /Reverse Swing and Jones = Reverse Swing.
